Ailantus

Ailantus - which means tree of heaven - was the literary imprint of Boom publishers Amsterdam and started in September 2007. It was bought September 2011 with staff and authors by Nieuw Amsterdam Publishers also in Amsterdam. Ailantus published only literary fiction, mainly in translation, with a special flavour. On the list are Chris Adrian, Jean-Marie Blas de Roblès, Peter Cameron, Mathhew Condon, Assaf Gavron, Carla Guelfenbein, Elizabeth Hay, Lawrence Hill, Tobias Hill, Reif Larsen, Michele Lesbre, David Mitchell, Blake Morrison, Burkhard Spinnen, Jonathan Trigell, Kate Walbert. For a full list of authors, please check the English righst list. Although the name Ailantus will no longer be used the books the staff chose will still be what they are looking for for the Nieuw Amsterdam list.
